Originally a 1970s Sears Country Coat, discovered in Colorado in worn, imperfect condition—missing hardware, surface marks, and decades of use already embedded in the fabric. before it reached my hands.
Rather than restore it, the surface was pushed further through controlled bleaching and distressing—allowing the fabric to react naturally. The result is uneven, organic, and permanent. No panel matches another. No marks were placed for symmetry.
The structure remains intact while the surface tells a new story.
The only addition is deliberate and restrained:
“ONE OF ONE” placed across a single pocket flap, reinforcing the finality of the piece without overpowering it.
Finished, not perfected.
Final form.
One of one.
